The code is rewritten at a lot of points. This code is not available on Codeplex yet but will be somewhere around the next month.

Key features:
- Better definition of alertrules. The AlertRules can be created on any attribute of an Entity, eg. Database.State or Database.RecoveryModel.
- You're no longer bound to only Sql, Windows OS, IIS will also be available in the forthcoming release.
- The use of scripting (VB Script or Powershell) will be added.
- A datawarehouse will be available for reporting.

Created Release: Sql Monitoring 1.0.434.0 (aug 31, 2008)

New Release, 1.0.420.0
This new release solves some performance issues. The database is not yet optimized but this will be done in the next release. From this release on there will be no breaking changes on the database, so your data is safe from this version on. If you use the first release there is no possibility to transfer your data to this release.

The service is more stable and will most likely keep on running of everything else stops. If anything causes the service to stop the error will be in the Windows event log. If an unhandled exception shows up there you can start the service in debug mode from the commandline. Just add '-debug' as parameter. All the output will be send to the console, including the unhandled exception.

The client still has a lot of work, but mostly this is UI based. I will add this in the next two weeks. The feature complete version will be released on 30-08-2008.

This release is build on SQL Server 2008 RTM (10.0.1600.22) and Visual Studio 2008 SP1.

The service is tested on Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 and wil monitor SQL Server 2000 and up. The service will not work on Windows XP.

The central database must run on SQL Server 2008.

The client will run on most Windows versions as long as the .NET Framework 3.5 is installed.
